Amelia Gates
Designer · New YorkAmelia Gates is a New York–based designer whose work spans scales, disciplines, and mediums, including set design, animation, custom furniture, and architecture. She studied design and architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before earning her Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture. While completing her studies, she taught courses in design methods and representation at both UNC Charlotte and Yale. Her work is driven by an interest in how materials, technology, and representation can expand the understanding of the built environment.
Mariam Mumladze
Researcher · New YorkMariam Mumladze is a multilingual researcher working across geopolitics, technology, and society, with a focus on how global systems of power, security challenges, and technological change shape the environments in which people live. She works at the Permanent Mission of Georgia to the United Nations in New York, and has previously worked as a Chinese language interpreter and written for think tanks and global media outlets. She holds an M.A. in Global Studies from Bard College and a B.A. from the Free University of Tbilisi. At VOGELFREI, she contributes policy and regional expertise.
Aleksa Milojevic
Director · Vienna NYCAleksa Milojević is a New York-based spatial designer, researcher, and media producer from Vienna. His work spans architecture, planning, and audio-visual production, addressing urban conditions, spatial symbolism, and socio-cultural participation. He studied at TU Wien, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and AHO in Oslo, and holds a master's degree from Tongji University in Shanghai, where he focused on urbanization and rural history in China. He completed postgraduate studies in architecture and media theory at Yale University. His work has been shown at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Yale School of Architecture, and the Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media.
Joseph Reich
Director · Houston NYCJoseph Reich is a Texas-born spatial researcher and designer whose work examines the built environment as an interface through which life is organized and experienced. He works across architecture, urbanism, exhibition design, events production, and publishing. He studied Environmental Design at Texas A&M University and architecture at the Yale School of Architecture, and was the Bass Fellow in Architecture in the Architecture and Urban Studies program at the University of Cambridge. He has served as an editor of Paprika!, was Creative Director of the 2025 Pembroke May Ball, where he led the design and fabrication of a structural installation, and is currently Project Lead on an immersive installation with Isovist Studio.
Matthew Wilde
Director · Dundee NYCMatthew Wilde is a Scottish designer and urban researcher working on new forms of social and ecological commons across built environments, research, and exhibition-making. After undergraduate studies at the University of Dundee, he graduated from the Yale School of Architecture, where he studied architecture, urban planning, and environmental theory. His practice explores how architectural reuse and densification can strengthen urban resilience and create shared spaces, particularly in communities undergoing social and ecological transition. His projects have been shown at the 2023 Venice Biennale (Surfacing – The Civilized Agroecological Forests of Amazonia), the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Motion: Autos, Art, Architecture), and the NOMAD exhibition at Autostadt Wolfsburg.
